Our school website has been designed to give you an insight to our beautiful school and to reflect the wonderful learning environment which exists here in Carns NS.  We hope you will find the website both useful and informative. On behalf of everyone who make up the learning community here in Carns NS, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you. 

We are a co-educational, Catholic Primary School under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin, Kevin Doran. We provide primary education to girls and boys from Junior Infants to 6th class.  While we promote primarily a Catholic ethos, we warmly welcome children of all faiths and beliefs and none. Located in the Parish of Grange, we are situated just off the N15, between Grange & Cliffoney.

As a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive school community, we aim to promote the full and harmonious development of each child in our care. With a reputation for excellence in teaching and learning, we take pride in the high standards and expectations in relation to hard work and behaviour. Each child is encouraged to work hard always and to strive to reach their full potential.

We currently have 35 children enrolled in Carns NS across all classes. We have three permanent teachers. Our brand new and state of the art building, opened in 2022, boasts two large and vibrant classrooms and one dedicated SET room. We are also very fortunate to have a large and interesting school yard and play ground, with both basketball and football courts, as well as an enticing and stimulating multisensory school garden.  

Here in Carns NS we work collaboratively with all school stakeholders. Our school is supported by a very supportive Board of Management and by a very proactive Parents' Association who liaise on a continuous basis with staff and BOM in order to support many initiatives throughout the school year thus ensuring the very best possible educational experience for our children. 

The heartbeat of every great school is a committed and dedicated school staff and Carns NS is no exception. Our staff are fully trained and strive to ensure best practice in education and teaching prevail. The positive well-being of all our pupils is our main priority.
